As part of Aruba's Carnival tradition, the transfer of command normally takes place just before the big parades. On Wednesday evening the Prime Minister handed over the keys to the island to the new Prins and Panchos of this Carnival season. The new Carnival Law was introduced during the ceremony and will be in place until Ash Wednesday when the Carnival officially ends.
