Getting Married in Aruba

Every year, Aruba receives hundreds of inquiries about getting married on the island. Whether you choose to tie the knot on the beach, during a private sunset cruise, or at a lush tropical garden, getting married in Aruba is a wonderful way to add exotic romance to your wedding day. There are many properties on the island with complete banquet facilities for your reception, and many of Aruba's fine restaurants offer elegant private rooms for special occasions. 

Required Documents for Getting Married in Aruba

In order to get married in Aruba, the following documents are required for both individuals to obtain:

  • Long form birth certificate with apostille for both individuals.

  • Negative statement of marriage with apostille for both individuals.

  • Affidavit Single Status for both individuals (this template is to be forwarded to you by your planner.  Please make 2 hard copies as both individuals must each fill one out). Once you have filled them out you must have them signed and stamped by a notary public and then take them to get an apostille for each.  

  • Letter of intent for both individuals (this template is to be forwarded to you by your planner. Please make 2 hard copies as both individuals must each fill one out). This template does not require notarization nor an apostille. 

  • Personal Single status Declaration for both individuals (this template is to be forwarded to you by your planner. Please make 2 hard copies as both individuals must each fill one out). This template does not require notarization nor an apostille. 

  • Passport picture page for both individuals.

  • Passport picture page for witnesses (you must have at least 2 witnesses but can have up to 4 and the only requirement is that they must be at least 18 years of age)

  • If applicable due to previous marriage(s):

    Dissolution of marriage document with apostille, be it a "Divorce Decree" or a pertaining "Death Certificate". This proof of dissolution of marriage must also be accompanied by an "Apostille". If either individual has more than one dissolution of marriage then he or she must send in only the last one.
