On Monday, local members of the press had the opportunity to meet and talk to Castello Banfi’s Michela Dominici, Sommelier and Key Ambassador to the World for Banfi Estate. Dominici, a graduate of the University of Florence, is on the island to host a series of wine seminars, as well as a special Wine Pairing Dinner that will take place on Wednesday, February 6th, at the Radisson’s elegant 4-diamond AAA rated Sunset Grille.

Aside from meeting with Michela, the invited journalists also enjoyed a preview of the Wine Pairing Dinner, tasting delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by Radisson’s culinary experts, paired with Castello Banfi’s excellent wines.

The Wine Pairing Dinner promises to deliver a marvelous evening, taking diners on a tasting voyage of the most wonderful wines by Castello Banfi, paired with a five course menu.

The Italian-inspired menu will kick off with a Trio of Tomato, Chicken and Prosciutto Bruschetta, followed by Shrimp Fra Diavolo; sautéed shrimp with onion, tomato, garlic, white wine and crushed red pepper. The third course, a traditional Veal Parmigiana, will present a breaded veal loin with fried eggplant, tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. Rounding out the savory courses, diners will enjoy a Grilled Top Sirloin with a Cremini mushroom sauce, served on a bed of Fettuccini Primavera. For dessert, a Pistachio Brittle Cheesecake will be served with a mixed berry sauce.

The evening of exquisite Italian wine and food pairings will start at 7:30pm in the Sunset Grille, at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa. Tickets are available for Afl. 125 per person, at Romar Trading or La Bodega. For more information, call 592-9182 or 560-2627.
