- 4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
- 1 1/2 cups rich cream
- 2 cups butter
- 3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar, sifted
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Prepare pan lefi as indicated in Panlefi Melt over boiling water, or a very low flame
4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
Add a little at a time:
1 1/2 cups rich cream Beat long and hard as there should be no lumps. Chill thoroughly.
Beat until light and creamy:
2 cups butter
3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar, sifted
Beat in one at a time:
1 tsp. vanilla Blend in the chilled chocolate mixture. Place five or mix panlefi in the bottom of a large serving bowl. Cover with a layer of the chocolate. Add a second layer of panlefi, pressing the cookies into the chocolate. Repeat until the bowl is full, finishing with a layer of chocolate. Garnish with snipped maraschino cherries and slivered almonds. Refrigerate overnight and serve well chilled.
