As part of the Aruban tradition various businesses and households close the end of a year with the lighting of a pagara, a long string of firecrackers. The noise and smoke are supposed to ban any evil-minded spirits and bad vibes. As always the pagaras of Renaissance Aruba Resort and Aruba Marriott Resosrt were one of the best attended spectacles on December 31st 2013.
