Marijn Fiolet Contreras Celebrates Ten Year Anniversary at Boardwalk Hotel

On April 16 the team at Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Aruba celebrated the tenth work anniversary of Marijn Fiolet Contreras. Marijn started her career at Boardwalk as a part time Front Desk Agent. During her tenure at the Front Desk, Boardwalk transitioned from a small property to a boutique hotel and expanded from 14 to 49 casitas. As the hotel evolved and the number of new positions grew, Marijn embraced new opportunities with Boardwalk. She recently held supervisory positions in Operations and Housekeeping and is currently part of the wait staff at The Coco Café, Boardwalk’s on-property bar and restaurant.

Looking back at her decade of service at Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Marijn loved the metamorphosis of the hotel the most. “Physically and professionally a lot changed at Boardwalk, yet we managed to maintain our personal and small-hotel approach and vibe towards our guests”, says Marijn. “Another professional highlight is for sure the 2 keys-accreditation we received from MICHELIN Guide in 2025 as the very first -and only- hotel in Aruba, as well as our consistent high guest satisfaction scores across all review platforms. That is something we can be very proud of as a team”, Marijn concludes.

Marijn is a 2024 recipient of the AHATA Excellence Award based on her excellent guest service at Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Aruba. Together with her husband she co-owns sushi restaurant Tatami Sushi Bar, where she works a few days a week as well. In addition, Marijn is the mother of two sons. Congratulations on reaching this milestone Marijn and thank you for your signature laughter that brightens each day, your loyalty and dedication to Boardwalk Boutique Hotel!
