Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) hereby advises all passengers flying to the US in the coming days to check-in 3 to 4 hours prior their flight to be processed in time, as the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Aruba is experiencing a delayed processing of passengers.

The US Government failed to produce a Fiscal Year 14 budget or continuing resolution. As such all US government agencies are being impacted, including CBP in Aruba. CBP is currently in a furlough status and has several non-exempt employees that will not be at work until this is resolved. However, CBP Aruba will remain open and continue with their daily operational mission, but will be deploying fewer personnel.

Airline partners and AHATA have also been informed of the situation and were requested to cooperate in informing the passengers upon check-in of the situation to go through the process in time.

AAA will keep you informed of any other consequences or developments.
