Aruba’s windsurfing champion Sarah-Quita Offringa notches up another win at Fuerteventura PWA event

Aruba‘s windsurfing champion is currently in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands defending her crown in the 2013 PWA Freestyle Windsurfing Cup. In the Women’s Double Elimination Sarah-Quita Offringa faced Arrianne Aukes in the winners’ final once more after having beaten Yoli de Brendt  in the preceding heat. Using a combination of a flawless e-slider and an impressive air flaka Sarah-Quita gave a stunning display. (See video of Sarah Quita performing an air flaka at a previous event.). Arrianne tried to defend with a spock 540 on the outside of the course, but fell short of the high level of performance she showed previously allowing Sarah-Quita, who continued with very well executed shaka and puneta, to seal the final in defense of her crown.

Women’s Freestyle Results After Double Elimination

1st Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / Gaastra / Mystic / Chris Benz / Maui Ultra Fins)
2nd Arrianne Aukes (RRD / Simmer / AL360 / Maui Ultra Fins)

4th Olya Raskina (JP / NeilPryde)

The Fuerteventura windsurfing event will continue until July 26th and we will post any updates to Sarah-Quita’s progress. A live Webcam feed of the event can be seen here
