Aruba Airport first airport in the world to receive Green Globe Certification

Every day, thousands of tourists from the US, Netherlands, South America and many other countries, arrive at Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport looking for white beaches, relaxation, fun, and entertainment. Now they may know that this airport on our little island is the first airport in the world to proudly receive a Green Globe certification.

Green Globe is one of the leading certification programs worldwide for sustainable operations and management in the travel and tourism industry. AAA has focused on implementing building management systems, reduction of energy consumption initiatives, pilot waste projects purchasing policies, GHG emissions reports, and more. That and the impact on the community through the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by AAA’s entire staff through its Wings of Hope initiative has resulted in the distinguished honor of AAA receiving this highest level of certification for operation and management.
