Reportedly, the “Sport en Spel” activity to be held during the visit of the Royal Couple to Aruba, will go down in our history books as a historic event bringing more school children together in one activity than ever before. The person in charge of this tremendous activity, dubbed, Royal Jump-up, is Edgar Erasmus.

Erasmus expects around 4500 school children to participate in the Royal Jump-up activity. Preparations around the entire organization are intense. Different commissions, such as the Police, transportation are involved. All of these children must be accommodated in one sport complex. A special map has been prepared with three drop-off points around the area of the stadium where the children will arrive.

In view of the large number of children, they chose to allow the games to concentrate on 3 sections. “Sport en Spel” will take place inside and outside the stadium. They will have music to move by while the jump-up will continue in the stadium. Before this activity there will be another activity which the children will do together.

The Royal Jump-up will consist of “estafette-vorming,” (special formations), twister games and other games played with balls. There will also be the famous sack jumping game.

The goal of these activities is to see our children enjoy themselves and see our Royal couple from close up.

Also, important to note that in view of the large number of children, the Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium will not be able to accommodate other persons in the stadium; hence will be closed to the public.
