Always one of the absolute highlights of the Divi Aruba Beach Tennis tournament, held this past week at Eagle Beach, this year’s Nations Cup was better than ever, with incredible athleticism of the players wowing the crazy crowd.

The Royal Night at the Bushiribana Gold Mine Ruins was announced to be the highlight of the festivities organized for HRM King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. The event, organized at a very unique location, was a mega success. Local artist performed for the King & Queen showing them the history of Aruba’s music and the night ended with a firework show.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima arrived on Aruba on Tuesday evening, November 19th 2013. On Wednesday morning the King & Queen were officially welcomed on Aruba by Aruba’s Prime Minister and Governor Refunjol. Besides the Prime Minister and Governor, many islanders came to LG Smith Boulevard to welcome the new King & Queen.

The winning ticket was drawn by Aruba’s smallest Belgian, a 4-year old little boy.

The stylish opening event in the Westin Art Gallery featured gorgeous models and resort wear fashion in a gorgeous setting, the trademark of the Aruba in Style Fashion Week, and the final catwalk of the event’s third edition had the stunning pool deck of the Westin Aruba Resort in Palm Beach as the ideal backdrop.

After weeks of preparations, organizers of activities are determined to see their tour finish with a flourish during their two-day visit here. Aside from local media, a battalion of international press will be arriving to record the monarchs’ visit.

With many exciting events planned for their two-day stay, of which the highlight will be “A Royal Night at Bushiribana”, on Wednesday, November 20, using Aruba’s famed “gold ruins” as the backdrop for a variety show, the area demonstrated it is ready to welcome the monarchs and an audience of 7000, and the site will produce an impressive, memorable experience.
