Queen’s Day celebration week was big and one of the greatest events that took place during the weekend was The Arubianas 4th ranking tournament. Around 300 participants in all categories, levels and ages played on the prestigious Eagle Beach with a total of 14 courts.

The Dutch Kingdom welcomed their first king in 120 years: King Willem-Alexander

Last Tuesday King Willem-Alexander became Europe’s youngest monarch. Beatrix shed a tear before signing the act of abdication and a cry went up from the crowd witnessing the signing on a giant screen in front of the palace. A star-studded rendition of the Koningslied was broadcast live from Rotterdam and watched by the royal family on the banks of the IJ river. Also Aruba participated, at exactly 1:30pm children on stage and the public at the Linear Park started to sing the Koninglied to celebrate the new king.
