If you’re on the island this weekend, follow the sound of the steel drums and the sight of colorful sails down to Surfside Beach. From Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12, 2026, the 16th Aruba International Regatta is turning Oranjestad’s coastline into the ultimate celebration of sun, sea, and sport.
This year’s theme says it all: “Sailing Sport, People, and Nature on the Same Team.”
Whether you’re a seasoned captain or just want to sip a cold Balashi beachside while watching the races, here is your ultimate guide to the weekend.
⛵ What’s Happening on the Water?
Expect action-packed racing from morning until late afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. The fleet is larger and more diverse than ever, featuring international crews from Bonaire, Curaçao, the USA, and beyond. Look out for:

- The Classics & The Fast: Everything from Sunfish and Lasers to high-performance racing yachts and beach cats.
- The Next Gen: Dedicated youth classes like the Optimist and SailQube fleets showcase the region’s incredible young talent.
- The New Trend: Keep your eyes peeled for the thrilling, high-speed Wingfoil class, making its official debut this year!
- Aruban Heritage: Don’t miss the beloved Miniatuurboot (miniature boat) races on Sunday afternoon, organized with Stichting Rancho to celebrate Aruba’s traditional seafaring roots.
🌴 The Action Ashore: Regatta Village
You don’t need a boat to enjoy the regatta. The heart of the festival is the Regatta Village right on Surfside Beach, expanded this year to two massive beach tents to host the crowds.
| When | What’s on Deck |
|---|---|
| Friday (17:00 – 20:00) | Opening Night: Registration, happy hour networking, and an essential free racing clinic for the youth classes. |
