After a great New Year weekend celebration Aruba was looking forward for the next weekend which was the start of the upcoming parades, contests and queen elections. Although it was raining the paraders went on with the Torch parade on Saturday and launched with more that 6400 participants in 8 carnival groups beginning with Champagne, followed by Royal, T.O.B., Dushi, Majestic, Pleasers and Teasers, OPC and XC-Lanz Carnival Group at the end.

Kozlov Dance Int'l did it one more time delighting the audience in Cas di Cultura with the all time classic by Tchaikovsky’s on the last week of 2012. The production featured guest stars Albert Davydov and the rising star Sophia Greenbaum. The audience was thrilled by the performance and elegance of the production and choreography with over 40 Aruban dancers of all ages that performed in chorus.

Mainstreet’s future looks brighter with the inauguration of the first streetcar
After a whole year of low activity the Mainstreet was crowded with people excited to see the launch of the first street car to traverse through the shopping area in Downtown Oranjestad. President of Mambo (Mainstreet merchants association), elated about the inauguration said that the heart of the Mainstreet is beating again.
