On December 17th Aruba welcomed its one-millionth stay-over visitor. The lucky one-millionth passenger arrived onboard of the JetBlue flight from New York and was welcomed with an official water salute, carnival dancers and steelband performers.

Several resort employees received a pleasant surprise this year. Cory Soal, a hearing healthcare practitioner in the Unites States, was offered a complimentary vacation by the Radisson’s GM in return for hearing aid expertise for one of the resorts employees. A year later Cory returned to Aruba with twenty six hearing aids instead of just one.

A new restaurant named Side Bar just opened its doors at the Renaissance Marketplace in Aruba. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving gourmet burgers, freshly caught local fish, salads, wraps and steaks. The restaurant is also specialized in Bourbon.
