Celebrating Hilton Aruba’s Engineering Month by Giving Back to the Local Community

Hilton Aruba’s Engineering team celebrated a month of recognition by volunteering with the local community, at FUNARI.

Director of Engineering, Nephtaly Croes together with her team, chose to volunteer at FUNARI, a not-for-profit organization that focuses on the social integration of individuals with physical disabilities to keep their minds and bodies active.

The Hilton Aruba Engineering team volunteered 174 hours to the FUNARI project. They visited the facility, making lists of necessary repairs, picked up broken equipment to fix at the resort carpenter shop, manufactured a coffee table and a sliding door, performed general maintenance by tightening all screws, fixing baseboards, servicing eight air-conditioners, installing LED bulbs and touching up bathrooms and corridors. The team is also looking forward to ARUBA DOET, an initiative incorporated into the resort’s Blue Energy Committee. ARUBA DOET is the island’s biggest volunteer movement, where hundreds of volunteer hours are given back to the local community over one weekend in March.

The Engineering team is proud to give back to their community and agrees it was a very memorable way to recognize Engineering month.
