CRUISE SCHEDULE 2008

Cruise tourism to Aruba started in the early fifties with combination cargo/passenger ships and the first all-passenger ship, the "Tradewind", that called in Aruba for the first time in 1957.

But is was not until the seventies that cruise tourism to Aruba experienced a remarkable growth due to the visits of the bigger cruise lines, such as Italian Line, Cunard, Holland America Line, Costa Line, Sitmar Cruises, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

In the eighties additional cruise ships called in Aruba, such as Chandris Line, Sun Line, Royal Cruise Line, Majestic Cruise Line, and the Russian Black Sea Shipping Co.

There are visonary embellishment and renovation plans by the Aruba Ports Authority, to convert Aruba in the most popular and preferred destination for major cruise lines.
