And we absolutley love it there. we stay tamarijn and they are so great ther. Can not wait to go. Mark Just came back from my visit to Aruba. We stayed at the Radisson hotel. We did not like the food or the attitude of some of the workers there. We also don't like the 15% service charge that is added to various bills ( American dollars, 26% florin ) and then they have the nerve to ask for an additional 10%-15% tip. Aruba is greedy, and being so takes the enjoyment out of being there, so I'm not going back. We have nothing but excellent comments to say about our trip. The weather, the people, the sites were fantastic. We stayed at the Tamarijn - very nice. We went on three dive trips with Mermaid dive operations. It was the best! Carlos took very good care of all his divers and puts your safety first. The dives were excellent! My husband & I go to Cozumel every year and our dives with Carlos were just as great! If your a diver - you might want to consider putting Aruba on your list! Looking forward to returning next year! We would highly recommend it to anyone preferring a quiet, clean place in which to vacation. The beach was beautiful, and the people who worked at the Bucuti were helpful and friendly. Enjoy! I could tell you that the island lives up to its slogan of 'One Happy Island'. The restaurants are very good and if you like seafood you will be in heaven. When the menu says catch of the day it really was the catch of the day. Usually caught by the owner or another employee. The people are the greatest....They make the holiday special. JK My husband and I were married in Aruba in February.Fifty guests came, all of us stayed at the Allegro.The reception was there as well.The resort completely surpased all of my expectations for what I thought the vacation and wedding would bring.The staff was very helpful to myself and all of my guests.Fifty very different people are hard to please all at once, but the Allegro did just that. The reception was phenominal in every aspect. The rooms at the Allegro will not knock your socks off.Standard rooms, but very clean.We were never in the room anyway.My husband and I went to stay at the Radisson after we got married.That room will knock your socks off.However, we were not pleased with the Radisson.We found the staff to be much less helpful, and at times downright rude.At the Radisson it seemed like many of the other guests had their noses in the air.The food at both places equaled each other.We thought the pool/beach area at the Radisson had no life. It was great. I wish we could have stayed 2 weeks. We stayed at the Caribbean Palm Village. The staff of this resort is great. As first time visitors we were given a free 4 hour bus tour of the island. This helped us plan the rest of our week. If your in the area Amici's is a great place to get a late night coffee and dessert. They are one of the few places other than the casinos that are open late (usually til midnight). We can't wait to go again. Jon Long 28 January, 01 My wife and I just returned last night from our second trip (first trip, fall, '98). Absolutely paradise as usual. However, we noticed more commercialization...time share reps. on the beach, more and frequent water sports. We hope this is not a sign of intense commercialization in the future or, at least for us, it will spoil the entire Aruba experience. We stayed at the Wyndham. TO TOM K STAYED AT BUCUTI A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. REALLY NICE ROOMS AND CLOSE TO MANCHEBO FRENCH STEAK HOUSE. EXCELLENT MEALS. BETTER THAN EL GAUCHO. DON'T MISS IT. Tom K We're ready for our 12th trip to this friendly island. We are staying at the Bucuti low-rise. First time at this hotel. Manchebo and Divi have been great but for one reason or another we decided on Bucuti. Anyone have info on Bucuti? we've heard good things so far.
