The Divi Aruba Beach Resort Trip Report
July, 2002
Sent in by:  Dott

We stayed at the Divi in late July. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the accomodations after reading some negative
reviews. I wasn't expecting a 5 star resort but it was very nice. We stayed in the lanai building and this was wonderful. Just what
we wanted---right on the beach and near a beach bar too. The beach was great. It was not crowded at all. Most days there were
less than 10 people on the beach in front of our room. The water was so clear and not rocky at all. Some days we went to the
pool by the veranda building and it wasn't crowded either. It could use a little cosmetic work but we stayed on the beach most of
the time so it didn't matter. The maids did a nice job of cleaning our room every day and the bathroom was really big which was
really nice.

We found all of the staff really nice, some more than others but no one was ever rude. We were always waited on at the bars
as quickly as possible and it didn't matter if we tipped or not. We ate at the Tam buffet once and it was fine and also at their
Italian restaurant and that was pretty good. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffets. They make you anything you want----made to
order eggs and omelettes. They also had fresh fruit. We ate at the Red Parrot and that was good too. The other buffets were
fine. There was always something different to eat.
We thought there were more kids at the Tam and more couples at the Divi. I was really pleased with our stay. I just wish we
would have known about the Divi before and we could have taken the kids there. They would have loved it and they would have
eaten for free. They are now over 18 so it could get pretty expensive.

We would stay at the Divi again because my favorite thing is being as close to the beach as possible and this beach was
wonderful: clear water, nice sand and uncrowded. We went to the Bucuti and it seemed nice but their beach is so wide that it
seems like a ways to the beach. I thought the lanai building was much closer. We only stayed 5 days so I think if you were
staying longer you might get tired of the all inclusive but it was fine for us. If you want to be on the beach and you don't need highvclass accomodations, then the Divi would be just right for you. Thanks for all the help on the bulletin boards and the trip reportsvsections. It helped us a lot!
