Aruba Trip Report: Marriott Resort
February
Sent in by: Pat

Just arrived back from a wonderful trip with our whole family...12 of us, (8 adults and 4 babies) traveled from Newark. Life was spent mainly by the baby pool, so bring some good pool toys for the kids. Tony Roma's was the best for the noise that 4 babies can make. LaVista restaurant at the Marriott Hotel made each morning a pleasure as they instantly helped set us up at a large table in the corner. Their buffet was just the thing for the variety needed for the children. The supermarkets did not have the right baby formula that we needed, so we were happy we had lugged it from home. We had one emergency with a high fever with one of the babies and we were connected to a wonderful doctor at the Ocean Club who even called back later to check on how the baby was doing. The room service menu could be improved, but the menu at the pool is just fine for lunch. The kids loved the tiger at the Seaport Plaza and the Buttterfly farm. The adults went to La Tratorria at the Lighthouse for the 8th year in a row and loved it as ever. Some of the adults went to the Flying Fishbone and liked the setting on the beach, but were frustrated by slow service and mediocre food. My best advice for those traveling with really young children is to bring everything you need with you... including some infant's Tylenol or preferred medicine. The pharmacies are small and not like at home. We look forward to our next trip...the beauty of the oceanfront rooms just continue to astound us.
