We visited Aruba for the first
time the week of June 9th. Like many folks there we were honeymooners. We had decided to
stay at the Marriott because of the info we got from the internet and this board. We had a
fabulous time!! The Marriott was wonderful. We were on the 7th floor on the end with the
wrap around balcony. It was so nice because we had a panoramic view of both the beach and
the Aruba countryside, very private! The balcony was HUGE! We had breakfast included in
our price for the hotel and that was such a treat. Every morning we had breakfast
delivered or went down to the buffet- eggs, bacon, hash browns!! I never eat like that at
home.
A most do is to discover the whole island. We rented a jeep for 3 days and on day one
pretty much saw the whole island, went off roading around the beaches, found some great
rock formations off the beaten track. The other two days we had the jeep we used it to go
into town and check out all the restaurants and shops. El Gaucho was wonderful, and the prices were great
for what you got!! We also drove just a short way to a beach where is
suppose to be good for snorkeling, we had our own snorkeling gear. The snorkeling there is
not that great, but that's considering I have been to the Cayman's which is just amazing.
But we didn't visit Aruba for the snorkeling anyway. Went to Baby Beach,
it was fun to just travel there, but if you are pushed for time I would skip it.
The service, the food, the people made everything excellent! We had the best time ever.
It's a great place to honeymoon because you don't feel pressed to do a whole bunch which
leaves you time to just hang out on the beach and relax without feeling guilty.
Hope this helps!
