My husband and I went to Aruba
for the first time and stayed at the Allegro Resort and had a wonderful time. We are in
our 40's
and met many honeymoon couples, young couples with children, couples our age and older
couples. It is a great resort for
everyone. Our room was a bit dated(a friend tried to steer me away from the Allegro and
towards the Marriott). They are presently renovating the resort and it takes time. Thank
goodness, though, I did not listen. We had so much fun at the Allegro. We chose the
all-inclusive package and was very satisfied. The food in our opinion was excellent. Yes,
the alcohol was watered down (although I did not think the gin was), but I think that was
good or else there would be a lot of drunken people all over the place.
The Caribbean was great!!! Lying on a float in the water with that incredible Arubian
tropical breeze was the most relaxing. Do
apply alot of sunscreen because the sun is strong!!!. Stay under one of the palm huts on
the beach with the blowing breeze
always keeping you cool and you may never want to leave Aruba.
The Allegro resort had a wonderful show each night. When we stayed at the Atlantis in the
Bahamas we could not find much to
do after dinner; the only thing available after dinner was the casino. At the Allegro, the
show begins at 8:30 PM and lasts for one hour and then there's a smaller "skit
show" at the bar area. The casino is also available and it's very nice (especially
when you win). There's also a lovely sidewalk at beach side of the resorts that we walked
at night and visited the other hotels. And there's also dancing after all that.
We also ate at Caruso's which is at the Allegro and part of the all-inclusive package.
Wow, what terrific food and the waiters are
filling up your wine glass every time it's empty.
The hotel is well maintained and clean. The people are very nice. I recommend the DePalm
tours especially the Safari Jeep
Trip. We had a great time. Also go into town. There's more jewelry stores than I've ever
seen in my life. In fact, if you're thinking of buying something, shop around at home and
compare prices in Aruba.
Stay at the Allegro and have alot of fun.
