Divi Divi Trip Report

We just returned from our first visit to the Divi Aruba Beach Resort where we spent a most pleasant and
enjoyable week. In that this was our first trip to Aruba, we were somewhat apprehensive as
to what to expect when we arrived. All in all, the Divi met or exceeded our expectations
relative to an all inclusive vacation package. The staff, in particular, was extremely
warm, friendly and accommodating.
The Divi property certainly conveyed a relaxed and tropical atmosphere with
its open air lobby, pristine beach, tropical vegetation and thatched huts..... quite a
contrast to the sterile and formal atmosphere of the high rise resort facilities located
further north. Our room was Unit 311 of the Casita's, one of seven groups of one story
buildings located in close proximity to the Beach. Although the resort laundry was
immediately across from our unit, the location posed no problem other then from an
aesthetic viewpoint. The location was very convenient in accessing the beach, restaurants
and bars and our patio looked directly on to the ocean. The room itself was rather
spacious with a King sized bed.
We were quite pleased with the meals available at the Divi and its affiliate
resort, the Tamarjin,
under the Mega-all inclusive option. With the Mega option, guests have access to all
restaurants, bars and other amenities at both the Divi and Tamarjin. Be
sure to specify to your travel agent that you desire the Mega option. Breakfast was served
buffet style with a wide variety of choices-cereals, fruits, yogurt, French toast,
pancakes, scrambled eggs,
bacon, sausage, hash brown potatoes etc. The chef was most accommodating in cooking
omelets and other egg dishes to order. Lunch was also served buffet style and offered a
substantial number of choices. As an alternative, we frequently enjoyed the fresh made
Pizza and Grilled sandwiches available at the Pelican Bar. Dinner was available buffet
style or in the more formal surroundings of the Red Parrot Restaurant. The Red Parrot,
which we regularly frequented, offers a choice of appetizers and entrees cooked to order
andserved by a very attentive staff. We particularly enjoyed the Filet Mignon and the Coconut Shrimp. With
dessert, be sure and try the Arubian Coffee!
The Divi Resort property was well maintained and conveniently located on a
picturesque section of Druif Beach.
Despite the resort being filled to capacity, we never experienced any overcrowding or
delays in service. The Divi is the perfect tropical resort to kick back, relax and enjoy
the sun. We're looking forward to returning to the Divi in the near future.
