Marriott Beach Resort - Sam and Lynn's Aruba trip.

October 1 - October 9, 2000

Our honeymoon trip to Aruba was INCREDIBLE! First, we want to thank everyone who took the time to complete a trip report. The reports were enormously helpful to us as we planned for everything from where to stay to where to eat...

So, we hope that we help someone else have a great time too! Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions.

Our Trip:

Accommodations: Marriott Resort and Casino Beautiful, attentive staff, customer services took on a whole new meaning(we felt like royalty :) Terrific for Honeymooners! Ask for a ocean view room on floor 6 or higher (so that you can see the ocean as well as the pool area) The sunset alone makes it all
worth it. Sitting on your balcony with the one you love watching the sun go down...it's better than the movies.

Where to eat: We were told that eating would be very expensive...it really depends on the choices that you make...Here are our most favs:

Iguana Joes- must see! We went for lunch/ great food/great shopping area 30.00

Simply Fish- eat scrumptious seafood right on the beach! Our favorite outdoor spot Romantic, romantic, romantic!!! Reservations required 100.00

Captain's Table- Our favorite indoor spot (again seafood..our fav) 80.00

Marriott Room Service- Fast, delicious and the presentation is amazing. Forget about taking the tray or cart at the door...the waiter is going to bring it in and set it up and the fan fare is fun to watch :) We called down and asked for a butter knife and it was delivered in a linen napkin on a newspaper... the waiter actually bowed....ok, ok we gave him a tip and tip we did..Everybody! But it was worth it :)

Things to do: Our favs

4x4 Off Road adventure is a must. We went for the 1/2 day and it was just enough for us. I will admit that it is VERY off road and not for the faint of heart. I was literally terrified several times...of course, my new husband was driving....so that made it better. Here's the set-up...2 couples are given a jeep and all jeeps play follow the leader. The leader is the tour guide. My husband drove the whole time because the other couple didn't feel comfortable...it's important to acknowledge who feels comfortable when driving on the edge of a cliff...

Dinner and Dance boat cruise: FUN FUN FUN!!! We cruised to our dinner destination and then danced our way back on an incredibly beautiful boat. Highly recommended.

Definitely go to the tour orientation...that's where they tell you about the activities and can sign up for them.

The weather was perfect...and windy. Ladies: forget about hairspray...wash, mousse, and go. I used colorful headbands and scrunchies and visors.

The beach was the best.....go to the beach and the pool everyday!

Oh my gosh..there's still so much....please e-mail for more information.

Bottom line: We loved Aruba, the people are so friendly We can't wait to go back again to the HAPPY ISLAND...we will stay at the Marriott and we will be HAPPY< HAPPY! :)

Aruba truly is ONE HAPPY ISLAND (U will find out just like we did...smile)

Have a great time!

Sam and Lynn
