Aruba Trip Report - Divi Aruba Beach
Resort
July 9 - July 16, 2000

The flight and connections from Hartford through San Juan were seamless on
AA. Check through in Immigrations took less than two minutes, the trade winds welcomed us
as we stepped through the airport door and the DePalm bus brought us to the Divi in just a
few minutes.
Our room was upgraded at the front
desk and we ended up in Vista 1, room
101. The room was clean and spacious, but not elegant. Our sliders opened to a view of
gardens, pool and ocean and we were just steps away from the center of the resort. The
staff was friendly, helpful and never intruding. The
lizards and iguanas shuffling around were fun to watch and photograph. The buffet had very
good variety but the Red Parrot became our frequent choice for dinner. The quality
compared to any fine restaurant, with great service and a wonderful atmosphere. The bars
were great as well, with daily specials posted and never a watered down drink.
We used the shuttle to go over to
the Tamarijn
for activities, shows and a dinner at the Palm Court, which was good but not as nice as
the Red Parrot. The Tam was not as attractive as the Divi, but everyone was having fun. We
have been to Bermuda, the Bahamas and Jamaica. Aruba has won our hearts
away however and we would definitely return and stay at the Divi
Aruba Beach Resort again. We
could be as casual as we liked, or as formal as we wanted. The island offers much to do
and see and the Divi provides all your food and drinks without having to travel each day
or evening.
Feel free to contact us with
questions.
