15th Wedding Anniversay Heaven!

June 26 - July 1, 2000

Divi Aruba Beach ResortHello, everyone. My name is Carol and I am so happy to report about our 15th Wedding Anniversary to sunny, happy Aruba! We left from Houston Intercontinental Airport at 6:30 a.m., on Monday, June 26, for 5 days and 4 nights (which was the perfect length of time for us). After reviewing and praying over which resort to stay, I chose the Divi Aruba Resort because it was all-inclusive and we could use the facilities at two resorts.

Well, I was prepared, from previous trip reports, that the front of the resort didn't look too hot. That was an overstatement, however, I was prepared for much worst. I can not say ANYTHING negative about the trip or the Divi Divi Resort resort. Maybe, I can complain about the baby alligators running around, but the Aruba natives say they are harmless and taste like chicken.

Anyway, everything, from the food, to the hotel rooms to the nightly activities to the beach and the other resort guests...all was great! We laid out on the beach until late at night, ate and drank all that we wanted. I woke up early and sat on the beach and read my Bible and meditations, I truly rested and rejuvenated myself in Aruba. The rooms were clean. We stayed in room 336 in the Casita's, thanks to other trip reports. Although we paid for a garden view room, it was great, because room 336 is more like a little bungalow and although it was a garden view, we could walk directly from our patio onto the beach! We plan to revisit next June and bring our 13 year old daughter with us. Next time, I will directly book my airline and reservations (at the Divi) and take our daughter at the very least to Baby Beach and on a jeep tour.

The shopping was great and so developed. High class all the way. We went to eat at a top Aruban seafood restaurant, The Driftwood. It was good, I was sort of expecting fried seafood (You know, Texas/Louisiana style), but the Mahi-Mahi fish was prepared their way...it was good.

Of all the islands we have visited, Aruba is the best. Arubans don't beg for money or tips, they are extremely nice and proud of their homeland and the culture is so diverse...it's a melting pot of all people. The natives are so very smart, many speaking 5 and 6 languages and everything is planned for the tourists' convenience. Never have we had such a relaxing and perfect trip.

Finally, all was well for our photo shoot of renewing our marriage vows. The professional photographer, Yves, is great. She has permit to take photos at several resorts there and she took my husband and I on a photo shoot. The pictures are masterpieces and we were very pleased with her prices and her prompt delivery. I am still in awe of how great everything was in Aruba.

Any questions, etc... feel free to e-mail me at crmw1959@yahoo.com. We made friends, whom I pray will keep in contact with for years to come.

Brenda, Lucy, George, Joel, Priscilla, Patrick, Sandy, Amy...we love you and look forward to seeing you all next year!
