Well, I was prepared, from previous trip reports, that the front of the resort didn't look too hot. That was an overstatement, however, I was prepared for much worst. I can not say ANYTHING negative about the trip or the Divi Divi Resort resort. Maybe, I can complain about the baby alligators running around, but the Aruba natives say they are harmless and taste like chicken.
The shopping was great and so developed. High class all the way. We went to eat at a top Aruban seafood restaurant, The Driftwood. It was good, I was sort of expecting fried seafood (You know, Texas/Louisiana style), but the Mahi-Mahi fish was prepared their way...it was good. Of all the islands we have visited, Aruba is the best. Arubans don't beg for money or tips, they are extremely nice and proud of their homeland and the culture is so diverse...it's a melting pot of all people. The natives are so very smart, many speaking 5 and 6 languages and everything is planned for the tourists' convenience. Never have we had such a relaxing and perfect trip.
Any questions, etc... feel free to e-mail me at crmw1959@yahoo.com. We made friends, whom I pray will keep in contact with for years to come. Brenda, Lucy, George, Joel, Priscilla, Patrick, Sandy, Amy...we love you and look forward to seeing you all next year!
