"LIFE IN ARUBA" by Mighty Talent
CALYPSO winner for 1999

It is time, Time to stop this hate
And learn to appreciate
We as Arubians, we have to help our fellow man
Not destroy him each chance we can
But look around, how we break each other down
Our own people (lord) that's a sin
But when a foreigner blow, Lord we turn chupado
And we treating him like a king

Life in Aruba, Life in Aruba
Arubians are friendly to everyone
Everyone except our own Arubian

Since I small, as far as I recall
3 words mammy taught to me
Studia awe, majan diploma den bo man
Y pa semper live happily
But these ilegals Lord they so sabi
Use these 3 words for negoshi
Casa awe divorcia majan
Y pa semper paspoort rubiano den man

Life in Aruba, Life in Aruba
Arubians respect your identity
Stop selling your own nationality

Ma ripara in the newspaper
20 cruise ship on Aruba
They say turista spending hopi placa
Nan ta cumpra tur caminda
We ain't blind, we ain't lose we mind
You know that's ridiculous
I ain't see none catching Arubus
Spending hopi placa in San Nicolas

Life in Aruba, Life in Aruba
Oranjestad filled with luxury
We get jail, choller house and mainstreet hanchi

What does it take for an Arubian
To get piece of property
A supermarket, a little restaurant, or to build his own negoshi
Seem to me we will never be donjo di nos pais
Cause every building you ever see
Belong to hindu's or to some chinee

Life in Aruba, life in Aruba
Continue this arubians beware
Soon we'll need visa's just enter here

No matter how try or what you do
Still your own people critisize you
They pretend it's on them you depend
It is them who does clothe and feed you
If you down, and you ain't got trabao
They call you sinberguensa
But the minute you progresa they say "WAAK ELA HANJA IDEA KAK………

Life in Aruba, life in Aruba
Don't wait till I dead in me coffin'
To come sing to me like a damn dolphin

But it you proud you Arubian, you proud who you be
Hands up and sing with me
I am Arubian I am orgulloso
I going to lucha, lucha pa henter mi pueblo
Si mi cai na caminda, coi e bandera y zwaai'e, zwaai'e, zwaai'e

Bring back me Aruba
Bring back me cultura
Yuda our prohimo
Including stranhero's
First let them know
English dutch and papiamento
Yuda everybody
Not just famia 'n compinchi
Lanta full na laira
Like you using viagra
