This Month's Cocktail:

"Cuba Libre"

This cocktail falls under the "classics" category and cause it is very popular around bars and very easy to mix, so it’ll be our Mix ‘ Shake of the month.

If you were visiting Aruba around Carnival season in 2001, then you may remember the popular roadmarch song played during every parade and it goes like this Bacardi, Hielo, limon, Coca Cola… dedicated to this cocktail. And if we’re not mistaken it’s still played at Carnival parties at some of the resorts.

About the name: Cubans call this drink “mentirita” translated to English “small lie”, a bit of irony at the fact that “libre” means free but Cuba isn’t free!

Ingredients:

2 oz. Rum (must be white)

žoz. Lime Juice

5 oz. Cola

Put limejuice and a twist of lime into highball glass. Add rum and fill with cola. If you’re using lemon or lime flavored Rum eliminate the limejuice.
